| Our crystal polarisers come in two different types, the basic Glan-Taylor polarising prism, and the Wollaston polarising beamsplitter.
The Glan-Taylor polarising prism shows excellent extinction and high transmittance over a wide wavelength range. These are recommended for applications requiring a high degree of polarization purity, high total transmission and low-to-medium power requirements.
They transmit from 350nm to 2300nm.
Reflection losses are minimised as the transmitted incident beam is at the Brewster angle at the air-space interface.
The linearly polarised extraordinary beam is not deviated from its initial path.
The Wollaston polarising beamsplitter provides a simple way to split a beam of light into two mutally orthogonal, linearly polarised beams.
These also transmit well from 350nm to 2300nm.
The Glan-Taylor polarisers are available mounted in flanged clevis mounts, which fit directly into our rotating holders and TubeMount systems.
